Spring 2007

Welcome to our past guests and new subscribers.

HAPPY MARDI GRAS!
On this bustling day in New Orleans known as Fat Tuesday (the most celebrated day of the Mardi Gras Festival) Maison DuBois Bed and Breakfast is pleased to add even more excitement with the launch of our new quarterly newsletter. We will keep you up to date on what is going on at Maison DuBois and around New Orleans.

Maison DuBois is a nineteenth century mansion which offers you a home away from home. It is fully appointed with five luxury suites of your choice and a tropical palm covered courtyard with a salt water pool and spa. All of this tucked away in a quiet nook in the historic French Quarter yet only one block from Bourbon Street.

NEW ORLEANS TODAY
New Orleans continues to be, in many ways, better than ever. Chefs are cooking, musicians are playing. The city has a renewed sense of appreciation for our rich history and culture. The authentic, sensory experience people have come to love that is New Orleans is very much alive.

What goes unreported by the media across our nation is that New Orleans successfully and safely has welcomed tens of thousands of visitors for more than a year now, including Mardi Gras; Jazz festival; Sugar Bowl and conventions of more than 25,000 people.

NEW ORLEANS NAMED
TOP DESTINATION FOR 2007

New Orleans was named a top 10 destination for 2007 by Orbitz and Travel and Leisure Magazine. The most celebrated and historic core of the city—including the Faubourg Marigny, French Quarter, Central Business District, Magazine Street, Garden District and St. Charles Avenue—not only remain intact, both physically and spiritually, but are thriving.

In recent months there has been a rebirth of conventions, cruise ships, the Louisiana Superdome and big-ticket sporting events. The reopening of all the major attractions in the city, including Harrah’s Casino, the Audubon Zoo, Aquarium and IMAX theater, Mardi Gras World, Café Du Monde, paddlewheel cruises on the Mississippi River, carriage rides through the French Quarter, ferry rides across the Mississippi River, the Steamboat Natchez and the Creole Queen, plantation, swamp and specialty tours, nightclubs and music venues are open - all resulting in the resurgence of the New Orleans experience.
